Today is day 1 of #fashionrevolutionweek so it's time to ask #whomademyclothes I'm proud to say that most of the time #imademyclothes ✂️ I started making my own clothes because I love the process of making things. If I wasn't sewing, I'd need to be doing some other handcraft. Plus, sewing is the best way to get clothes that are exactly the way you want them. 👗 Over the years, as I've learned more about the working conditions in the garment industry I also make clothes so that I don't contribute to the cycle of fast fashion that harms people and the environment. (Of course, we still have the source of our fabrics and notions to consider.) Follow @inthefolds and @fash_rev to learn more. #makersforfashrev ⠀

P.S. These are my latest projects from the weekend, a #seamworkneenah as a top and the #averyleggings both to take on my trip to Copenhagen next week.
Working on my #averyleggings today. I'm using compression fabric from @blackbirdfabrics so I went up one size (on advice from you lovelies) and I'm using a 1/2" seam allowance. I basted together the inseam to try them on and I think they'll be perfect tight but not too tight fit. 🤗🤞 I'm a little too sleepy to finish them tonight so I'll save the finishing for tomorrow. 😴 #sewingsaturday .

Are these not the MOST PERFECT PLEATS EVER?? 😍Seriously the proportion of the pleats in this design is perfect. In case you missed it, I posted this cute little #pattipocketskirt on the blog this week. Head over and get all the details, including tips for how to lengthen a skirt pattern. ✂️Pattern by the amazing @amynicolestudio .

What do you mean I'm in the way? 🐯 Despite this guy laying on top of everything I cut out a pair of #averyleggings last night and I'm hoping to get them sewn up this weekend. ✂️✂️✂️ .

Patti Pocket Skirt Blog Tour
Patti Pocket Skirt Blog Tour

Today is my stop on the Patti Pocket Skirt Blog Tour. The Patti Pocket skirt by Amy Nicole is designed for petite women. So, you might be wondering why I’m decided to take it on. Well, Amy sent me a really nice email and asked if I would show how the pattern can be used even if you’re not petite. (I’m 5’11” so definitely not in the petite range at all.) The thing I love most about sewing is that it can be adapted for all body types. As an advocate (is that the right word?) for the #sewingtall community, I’m really happy to see that there are also people promoting sewing for petites.
