Let's Talk About WIPs – What I Sewed in March & April

Let's Talk About WIPs – What I Sewed in March & April

It’s been two months since I did my so-called monthly recap and I nearly forgot to do this one! I’ve had a very busy past couple of months and there was not nearly as much sewing as usual. For most of March, I was getting ready to go on my trip to Japan, working a lot and sewing some things for the trip. My trip to Japan was fantastic (keep reading for a few pictures and info) but I’ve had trouble getting back in the groove since returning in early April. I think it was partly jet lag, partly life stuff (adulting is the worst! ;) and part that I didn't have an immediate goal in front of me.

Let's talk about WIP's – What I Sewed in February

Oh February, you little nugget of a month. We barely had time to get to know each other. Between work-work and sewing-work, it was a very busy month even though I didn’t have a lot of projects to blog about. My sewing calendar has the honor of having the not-secret, completed sewing projects recorded on it and since this month had a lot of secret sewing, the calendar has two spots left blank. It leaves me feeling a little unproductive and I have to remind myself that even though I wasn’t blogging as much, I did sew a lot. (pssst, all that secret sewing means that there is hopefully a new pattern on the horizon. Fingers crossed! It’s been almost a year since I released a pattern and I feel like I’ve forgotten how much work goes into it.)

Let's Talk About WIP's – What I Made in January

It feels particularly hard to write this month’s “works-in-progress” update. The news has been very distressing to me and also very distracting. As is usual in January, my freelance work was light so I’ve been able to spend more time sewing and making. I spent much of December and the first part of January working on pussyhats for the Women’s March. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have already seen the stacks of hats I made.
