Free Printable 2026 Monthly Calendar

Free Printable 2026 Monthly Calendar

Hello sew-friends! The New Year is almost upon us and I’m happy to announce that I have a new 2026 Monthly calendar for you! A new calendar is such a nice way to create a visual fresh start. If you’re anything like me, you have a list of things to do in the new year and now that the new year is here, it’s time to figure out when all those things can be done. :P

I’ve been doing a monthly calendar for many years now (with a few years off). The calendar is designed to be Sunday to Saturday with the dates at the top and plenty of room for making notes at the bottom. This is a great format for documenting your sewing projects, books read or just special events and goals for the month. This year, I’ve added a Year At A Glance design. These pdfs don’t have dates so they can be used for any year and again lots of room for planning your makes.

As usual, the pdfs are free to download when you sign up for the Sew DIY Weekly Newsletter. If you’re already signed up, check your email for a direct download. Or, login to the Resource Library to download (link and password at the bottom of every email).

What's on my Sewing List—Fall/Winter 2025

What's on my Sewing List—Fall/Winter 2025

Hello sew-friends! It’s starting to get cold and dark here in Seattle. So, it’s time to adjust my sewing list for the season. Like many creatives, I always have too many ideas and not enough time. To help myself focus, I try to keep my WIPs to a minimum. And recently, I've started making mini seasonal priority lists. I shared my late summer list on my Substack. I'm happy to share that 3 out of 5 things from that list are finished!

This list is a combination of things I need to sew and things I'd like to sew. I do try to use stash fabric as much as possible and making this list was helpful for figuring out what I already have supplies for. The list is in order of priority, starting with things I’m obligated to sew and moving to things I already have fabric for. In last place, are the mental obsessions that I don’t have either fabric or a pattern for. Let's dive in.

Three Elastic Waist Woven Shorts—Pattern Review

Three Elastic Waist Woven Shorts—Pattern Review

Hello sew-friends! Today, I have THREE finished makes to share with you. This summer, I decided I wanted some new woven shorts. I started by sewing the Dani Shorts by True Bias, then decided I wanted to try two other patterns. I didn't finish the third pair until last week, and while it is already too cold to wear them here in Seattle, I will be prepared for next summer. (Or any warm weather travel!) I'll share all the details on sizing, fabric, construction, what I like and what I'd do differently next time.

For sizing reference, I'm 5'11" with a long torso, hips are 40" and waist is 29.5". For all of these, I made a half muslin (just one front and one back), mostly to test the length of the rise.
